Colt Panel Filter Replacement
Ralliart Colt / Colt Version R Panel Filter Replacement options
When looking to replace your stock or old after market for your Ralliart Colt or JDM Colt Version R, there’s a few options:
1) K&N Panel Filter
The filter can be re used with a recharge kit. the K&n panel filter adds significant induction noise, as well as increased flow.

Maybe think twice about K&N
Interesting read. The K&N filters are very widely used here in Australia, often the first mod we do on the Ralliart Colts.
The test shows that the K&N flows much more, but scores poorly (relative) to the OEM filters in terms of dirt filtration and capacity for dirt. This should be no surprise – a simple visual comparison between OEM and K&N would lead to this conclusion. It’s certainly what I thought when I made the switch.
I don’t think the conclusions completely follow when applied to a modified performance car. A diesel 4wd is likely to see much dirt, and only have light power mods, where as a modified performance vehicle doesn’t see off road use and is sucking in much more air than stock due to 25-50% power improvements..
But it’s still food for thought… Perhaps next time I’ll test out one of the other non re-usable ones..
I found significant increase in induction noise from just replacing with new oem filter, a clean filter made a big difference to power delivery
